  YNAB import in onboarding

  Clear steps for finding your YNAB token, a note that you need the YNAB web app, error messages that say what to do next, and a Start fresh instead option if you don’t have a token or export at hand.

  Crash reports now say what kind of error happened and where in the app, so problems get fixed sooner. They still never contain your data or any text you typed.

  Sync after an expired session

  A tab left in the background no longer keeps retrying sync without a valid login. It waits for the session to refresh, reconnects as soon as you are back, and tells you if you need to sign in again.

  Visits to budgero.app are now counted once per visitor per day, still without cookies or anything stored on your device. The privacy policy is updated accordingly.

  Updated to the latest version, with no change to what is collected.

  Graceful server shutdown

  When the server stops, it now finishes running requests for up to 8 seconds instead of stopping immediately. This applies to self-host too.

  New Cloud accounts start with usage analytics switched on; you can turn it off any time in Settings → Security & Privacy. Only the choice saved to your account is used, so an old setting left in a browser no longer overrides it. Self-host still sends nothing.

  Cash advances

  Moving money from a credit card into a cash account (checking, PayPal, savings) now adds it to Ready to Assign, shown as “Inflow from debt accounts”. The card’s payment category stays as it was until you assign money to cover the new debt.

  Privacy and cookies

  Budgero no longer uses cookies for analytics, so the cookie banner is gone from the website and the app. Cloud now records pseudonymous usage events (which features are used and where things fail, never your budget data) so we can find problems sooner. You can switch this off any time in Settings → Security & Privacy; the choice is saved to your account. Self-host still sends nothing.

  Balance transfers between cards

  A transfer from one credit card, loan or mortgage to another card is no longer counted as a payment. It no longer drains the card’s payment category or lowers Ready to Assign.

  Card refunds

  Refunds come out of the card’s payment category the way YNAB does it, and spending a refunded amount later from another account no longer counts as overspending.

  Card refunds now reduce the card’s payment category.

  They now come out of Ready to Assign, and splits coming in from off-budget accounts add to it.

  A positive card balance moved to an off-budget account is no longer subtracted from Ready to Assign twice.

  Your Ready to Assign or credit card payment categories may change after updating, if you’ve made cash advances, balance transfers or card refunds. The new numbers match YNAB.

  Convert to a transfer

  Pick another account in a transaction’s payee field to turn it into a transfer; Convert to regular transaction turns it back. One undo reverts it.

  Budget Pacing shows how much you can still spend per day this month to stay on your goal, on the desktop panel and in the mobile category drawer.

  Settings → Appearance → Budget Table → Row density fits more categories on screen. It is saved with your preferences, so it follows you to every device.

  Budgets with tens of thousands of transactions open, switch months and update Ready to Assign much faster, and the local copy is saved less often and without recompressing.

  Undo and redo

  Undo now restores exactly what was there and either applies completely or not at all: deletes, splits, transfers, rule runs, imports, bank reviews, payee and label changes, account edits and currency changes. Recreated rows keep their IDs, and one undo reverts a whole import, bank review or conversion.

  The credit card payment mismatch shows as one warning icon instead of a badge per row.

  Self-hosting: back up before updating

  Back up your data volume before upgrading. After the update, devices can’t go back to 1.18 except by restoring that backup. Reload Budgero on every device afterwards.

  When a device still runs an older version, changes it can’t apply correctly now stop it with Update required instead of being silently skipped. Update every device after this release.

  Balances stay correct after deleting a category or debt account, editing split transactions and their transfer lines, and moving transactions between currencies.

  Payoff simulator on checking accounts

  An overdrawn checking or savings account no longer shows the Payoff Simulator; it stays on credit cards, loans and mortgages.

  Recurring templates keep their category, picked categories are saved by ID, the overdue badge stays in the date column, a YNAB import stays local until accepted, and blocked accounts are blocked everywhere.

  Move with ↑/↓, select with Space, extend with Shift+↑/↓, select all with Ctrl/⌘+A, clear with Esc, delete with Delete (with Undo) and add with Shift+N.

  For a transaction in a foreign-currency account, type the amount in your budget currency (for example after swapping cash at a rounded rate) and the rate is worked out and saved.
